Applying for Free School Meals (FSM)

Please be aware of some Important Changes effective from September 2026

All families who wish their child to receive Free School Meals from September 2026 must submit a new application. This includes families whose children already receive Free School Meals. Existing eligibility will not transfer under the new arrangements, so it is important that everyone reapplies.

The Government has also announced that, from September 2026, all children whose parents or carers receive Universal Credit will now be eligible for Free School Meals, regardless of household income.

We encourage all eligible families to submit their application as soon as possible to North Northants Council via the following link:
