The Ferrers School Aspire, Achieve, Acclaim

    Year 7 Writing Competition

To tie in with World Book Day, the Year 7 Ferrers News team thought that it would be great to have a creative writing competition for their year. They helped to design a poster, liaised with staff about possible prizes and will also deliver a presentation in assembly. This is the first whole-year writing competition that we have had and hope that it will be a real success with lots of entries. The closing date is Friday 23rd March. Year 7s have just completed a creative writing unit in English so should have lots of creative skills to show off!

Using the photograph, either write a detailed description of the scene or write the opening of a story based on the scene.  You should aim to write around 500 words.

Make sure you put your name and form on your entry and hand entries in at student services by Friday 23/3/18.

The winner, chosen by the Ferrers News team and the English teachers, will receive book tokens. Two runners up will win a pen.

You are reminded to be ambitious with vocabulary and to check work!
