The Ferrers School Aspire, Achieve, Acclaim

    Cambridge University Visit

On Wednesday 7th March, a group of Year 12 TENC students from across our three schools were invited to attend an Information Day at Pembroke College Cambridge. The day was specifically designed to explain to state school students what it is like to study at one of the world’s most prestigious universities and to also look at the application process and what admissions tutors are looking for.

The students were introduced to some first year students who enthusiastically and honestly shared their own experiences, inspiring us with their love of the Cambridge and their passion for the subjects they were studying. They acted as guides for the day, showing us round the college and outlining their own hopes and fears when they were taking their A Levels. One of the highlights of the day was dining in the beautiful Great Hall, steeped in history and surrounded by lively undergraduates.

It was a fabulous opportunity for our students, who are now contemplating what they need to do over the next few months to ensure they can make  strong university applications.
