The Ferrers School Aspire, Achieve, Acclaim

    Ferrers DJ Event

The Ferrers School was delighted to welcome FutureDJs, a revolutionary new DJ tutoring service to perform from a ‘pop-up’ DJ booth to excited students during their lunchtime on Friday 12 May. The idea behind the event was to gauge the level of interest of students who would like to learn DJ and Music Production skills. These skills will be delivered by FutureDJs as a 12 module peripatetic course, something the school are very excited about getting on board with as they continue to extend their varied and exciting instrumental lesson opportunities to all students.

Future DJs, established by two sets of brothers, Shaun & Joe Marsden and Austen & Scott Smart aim to deliver a national program of service. Professional DJs Austen and Scott Smart have previously had Radio 1 'Essential New Tune’, licensed music to Sony UK and performed at iconic nightclubs such as fabric (London), The Warehouse Project (Manchester) and Space (Ibiza).

Head of Performing Arts, Mrs Lindsey Atkins, said, “We are delighted to have welcomed the FutureDJs roadshow launch in line with AQA. We are very much looking forward to watching our students hone and develop their skills on the turntables - who knows what new talents will emerge from the school!"
